Mr Poettering confirms EPP's support for Pat Cox as President of the European Parliament
Hans-Gert Poettering, the Chairman of the EPP-ED group at the European Parliament, confirmed the EPP's support for the liberal candidate Pat Cox at the elections for President of the Parliament next week. The Greens, whose candidate Gérard Onesta is unlikely to make it to the second round, said they would also vote for Mr Cox.
