EU must set example on governance

The EU must set an example to developing countries on the issue of transparency in its institutions and development co-operation policies. This was the conclusion of the Belgian Development Cooperation Secretary of State, Eddy Boutmans, at the European International Policy Forum (EIPF) seminar on 20 July. Dieter Frisch, Vice-Chairman of Transparency International (Belgium) echoed these comments when he said "all international cooperation agreements should include a reference to good governance."
