EU ministers nominate Greek Lucas Papademos as ECB Vice-President

At an informal meeting in Oviedo (Spain) on 13-14 April 2002, the EU Finance and Economy Ministers agreed to recommend that Lucas Papademos should succeed the French Christian Noyer as Vice-President of the European Central Bank. Mr Papademos is currently the Governor of the Greek Central Bank.
