EPP confirms support for Pat Cox as next EP President

A European People's Party (EPP) spokesperson denied a report in the El País newspaper that some members of the party's group in the European Parliament intend to cast their votes for a socialist president of the parliament. The spokesperson said that the EPP would vote for MEP Patrick Cox, leader of the European Liberals group, as was agreed between the two parties.
