Commission prepares for administrative requirements of enlargement
The European Commission's services have submitted a report to the European Parliament dealing with the administrative issues in the context of the EU's enlargement. The report takes as its working hypothesis an accession of ten countries and the introduction of up to ten new official languages that the EU's institutions will have to be ready for on 1 January 2004 at the latest.
