Commission gets negotiating mandate on savings tax
The EU finance ministers on 16 October adopted a mandate for the Commission to negotiate with third countries on the tax on savings. An agreement with "tax havens" to adopt similar measures was one of the conditions for adopting the so-called tax package during the Nice summit.
