Belgian Presidency supports EU moratorium on GMOs

The Belgian Presidency of the European Union said on 3 December that the EU moratorium on genetically modified crops should not be lifted until there are clear regulations regarding traceability and labelling. This confirms the position taken by the EU ministers for environment at the Council meeting on 29 October that the moratorium should stay until new traceability and labelling rules are in place.
